Free Payslip Generator

Our Payslip Generator lets you create detailed payslips directly in your browser — completely free, with no account and no software to install. Supports both salaried and hourly employees (with automatic overtime calculation at 1.5×), plus year-to-date totals alongside the current pay period. Everything you type stays on your own device; nothing is uploaded to a server.

What Is a Payslip?

A payslip (or pay stub) is a document an employer provides each pay period, itemizing an employee's gross pay, deductions, and net take-home pay. In the US, UK, Canada, and Australia, payslips typically also show year-to-date (YTD) totals, so an employee can track their cumulative earnings and withholdings across the year at a glance.

Hourly vs Salaried Pay

Choose Salaried for a fixed amount each pay period regardless of hours worked. Choose Hourly to calculate pay from an hourly rate and hours worked — this tool automatically calculates overtime pay at 1.5× the regular rate for any overtime hours entered, a common standard (though always confirm your local overtime rules, which can vary).

Understanding Year-to-Date (YTD)

YTD figures show cumulative totals from the start of the year up to and including the current pay period. Enter your gross pay and deductions total from before this period in the "Year-to-Date" section, and this tool adds the current period's figures automatically to show accurate running totals — the same way a real payroll system would.

What US/UK Payslips Typically Include

FieldPurpose
Employer ID / Tax NumberIdentifies the employer for tax reporting (e.g. EIN in the US)
Gross PayTotal earnings before any deductions
Tax WithholdingsFederal/state tax, National Insurance, or similar, depending on country
Net PayThe actual take-home amount after all deductions
Year-to-Date TotalsRunning totals for the year, used for tax filing and record-keeping

Payslip vs Salary Slip

These terms are often used interchangeably, but this tool's Salary Slip Generator follows a simpler monthly format (basic salary plus allowances) common in South Asia and the Middle East, while this Payslip Generator follows the Western convention — explicit pay periods, hourly/salaried support, and year-to-date tracking. Use whichever matches your region's payroll practice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this Payslip Generator really free?

Yes, completely free with no sign-up, no watermark, and no limit on how many payslips you create.

Is employee pay data uploaded to a server?

No. Everything — including your logo and any figures you enter — is processed and stored entirely in your browser using local storage. Nothing is sent to our servers.

How is overtime calculated?

Overtime hours are automatically paid at 1.5× your entered hourly rate. If your overtime rate is different, add it as a separate line under Additional Earnings instead.

What if I don't know my exact YTD figures?

Leave the Year-to-Date fields at 0 — the payslip will still work correctly, just with this period's totals matching the YTD totals.

Will I lose my payslip if I refresh the page?

No, your draft is automatically saved to your browser's local storage as you type and restored automatically when you come back. Use "Reset Payslip" if you want to start over completely.
